Crazy Machines: Elements plays basically like the other entries in the Crazy Machines series: the player has to solve over 100 puzzles. Said puzzles consist of experiments with a special goal, e.g. blasting a vase with nitroglycerine. Unfortunately the set-up is not finished and the player has to complete it.

In every level he has certain components to his disposal which he places in the game field. After he is finished he starts the experiment and, if successful, the next level can be played. Just like in every new instalment the player has a few new components to use, e.g. a flame thrower or a windmill.
